 Hapworld SDL Ltd. was
founded in 1979 as a joint venture company between a Swiss manufacturer of
professional audio equipment and their current owners from Hong Kong, with aim to promote
quality equipment from Switzerland, Europe and the U.S. in China and the Far East. During this time, China was going through a
changing phase when broadcasters, film & music production facilities and
other cultural establishments were striving to improve on the quality of
their product. Representing a comprehensive line of top quality equipment for
the professional users, our company was soon recognized as the definitive
supplier of quality professional equipment in China.
In collaboration with industry specialists, we were often involved in the
design and implementation of respectable broadcast facilities, recording
studios and film production establishments. From mono broadcasting to stereo,
multitrack and digital recording, our company was
the driving force behind the implementation of facilities with these ever
improving standards. Amongst our long and impressive list of installations
during this time, we are particularly honored to be the integrator for the
first cassette duplicating facility in China. A modest
contribution from our company towards the modernization program of China during the time.
After 2 years of negotiations with Switzerland, we managed in 1990
to successfully introduce Swiss engineering expertise in tape recorder
manufacturing into China. A local
manufacturer would now begin to assemble Swiss designed tape recorders for consumption
within China. This undertaking
not only contributed towards improvements in local tape recorder
manufacturing techniques, but also brought along affordable equipment to many
Chinese broadcasters and professional users.
 Years of continuing success
in the broadcasting industry has given us invaluable experience and
specialist knowledge in the professional audio field. We felt that this
expertise could also be employed in the area of sound reinforcement. Our
extensive market studies indicated that theatres, concert halls, sports
arenas as well as leisure and entertainment venues in this region were
becoming increasingly sophisticated, creating an increasing demand in quality
sound reinforcement equipment. Coupled with the desire to apply our expertise
in a new front, we decided in 1990 to endeavor in servicing this market by
importing top quality sound reinforcement equipment to fulfil
the wide ranging requirements of our customers.
In 1998, Hapworld SDL Ltd. engaged in a new venture with two industry leading
professional engineers from the U.K., creating the new
brand name 'Audient'. Employing the latest in technology, Audient mixing
consoles, graphic equalisers and audio processing
equipment are manufactured in the U.K. and incorporates
specific features designed to satisfy the needs of the modern day production
environment.
 Our sales and
technical support staff are university educated and members of professional
bodies such as the AES and the SMPTE. We maintain our awareness of the latest
in technology by participating actively in professional seminars and exhibitions.Our professionalism together with the full
range of quality products and services that we offer has brought us many
satisfied customers, independent of the size of projects involved.
